My Summer research has led me to draw connections between surveillance and social networking. Nowadays a lot of information can be found about people online through the platforms of 'FACEBOOK', 'TWITTER' and other networking sites.
A part of my research I started tweeting to over a 1000 followers and lead them to a blog that I set up http://bio-metricks.blogspot.com/ as a way of seeing how stories I was posting would attract/or the opposite, to click on what was being posted.

Identity Titles
This title sequence is for a programme that I started watching on ITV, looking at a similar subject area, identity. There are aspects of this scene that I like. One of these being the way that a layering process has been taken in terms of the way it has been composited.

Self Initiated Project
Something that I briefly touched upon in a project when I was on my foundation course was surveillance. I found this really interesting and was able to look into the idea of peoples behavior and routine.

Rustic Photo's
One thing that I like to do when I find related imagery, is to start to group images together. I find that this helps me in order to start making collection. I think that one thing that I could do.
Photography
I've always had a passion for photography, so when I started to look at areas of interest for my self directed project, I wasn't surprised that I started to look at Photography. I started to look at Black and White/ Sepia photography as I really like this type of aesthetic. Taking into consideration my passion for photography it would interesting to try to incorporate the type of photography that I like within a project somehow.

Something that I noticed as I started to look for research related to photography was that I was drawn to vintage looking images. Looking at some of the images found above I love a lot of the compositions found in the pictures. I think the way that the cropping of some of these images is interesting. This is definately an area to develop further in terms of research.

Initial Ideas
I've been thinking about ideas for our self directed project recently. I want to make sure that I develop a strong idea to base the project around, rather than having an idea that doesn't have much to explore. One thing that I want to ensure is that I don't rush into making a piece of work using a particular method i.e. 3D, but explore the options.
For a while now I've wanted to take the opportunity to explore the use of 2.5d in a piece, which was my initial thought when given this brief, but I've decided to step back a bit and put 'possible production' methods to the side for now. This isn't to say that I won't use this method but at this stage I think that considering the subject matter is more important.
