As well as having a fantastic level of production quality, this piece is also a great example of using narrative within a piece. The voice over works extremely well in the piece. The viewer is taken on a journey and through the great visuals are attention is held from beginning to end.

Prankville
After talking as a group the other day and looking at previous competition entries I had a bit of a think. Rick mentioned how sometimes it's better to have a good idea, than having a piece which is of great quality, but not supported by a strong idea.
I think that this piece that was created for 'Prankville' demonstrates a great idea, (I still love the production quality of this piece!), but it just shows how having a successful idea can lift the feel of a piece and give it the impact that it needs.
Aranciata
As I mentioned in a previous post, I have been looking at 2.5d pieces and composite work. I would really like for the piece that I create for the brief to have a similar sort of look and feel of the piece below. By using 2.5d I hope that I will be able to layer my piece and give a feeling of depth.
The piece below is a good example of how different layers can be used effectively in order to give both a sense of depth and perspective.
Pieces with environments
This is an animation which shows different environments. I really like the way that the piece seems to build a narrative and in doing so it allows the piece to flow. Within my animation I would like to make sure that my animation has a clear structure and takes the viewers on a journey, something that i think this piece does very well. The piece captures your attention, without boring the viewers.
Natural city to Industrial
This is a video that I looked at a little for Critical Studies last year. It looks how a city changes from a rural feel to an industrial one. After reading the 'Mutating City' brief it was the first thing that came to mind.
I think that its a great piece of work which explores the ideas that we face today, overcrowding and ever growing industrial presence.
Competition Brief
The most recent brief that we are working on is the competition briefs. I think that I can get my teeth into two of them more then any others that I've seen.
These are:
Alliance Against Crime
Craft Animation
One Dot Zero
'Adventure in Motion'
Although I like the idea of the 'Alliance Against Crime' brief, I think that I am going to work on the 'One Dot Zero Brief'. I feel that I will be able to get stuck into and hopefully create an effective outcome.
The aim of the 'One Dot Zero' brief is to create an 'Adventure in Motion' which explores the idea that the city is constantly in transition and mutation.

3D images
Here are a few images taken from a website I was given a link for. Some are more realistic than others, however I think it just highlights the realistic look that can be achieved, through the use of 3D.

Beyond
I've started to look more into companies that produce 2.5d work. As mentioned in earlier posts this is the sort of work that excites me and this type of work is what I would like to produce for this new competition brief.

Evian Babies
I saw this advert last week and it didn't half make me crack a smile! Here they have taken a comical stand in order to drive the Evian brand. they have created an advert which will capture peoples attention and in tern allow them to remember their brand.
I found this video showing the making of the advert. In this video it shows the way that the advert was green screened:
